Classmate Review

Classmate Review

This week for my blog post I'll be reviewing what some of my other classmates did for their work this marking period.

Caden:

I really enjoyed Caden's work this Marking period because of the absurdity of everything in the music video he made. I really enjoyed it because I feel like even though I'v never met the artist in the video, I feel like I know him really well which is a testament to the way that Caden portrayed him in his work. As someone that likes music I always love being exposed to more of it and looking at all the ways I can keep music in my life. I would love to perhaps do something like this with my friends on my own time since I enjoyed the process he took in this work

Bakashe:

I also really enjoy the way Bakashe does her multimedia pieces in our class. I do traditional art as well as modelling so I think that this could be something I experiment with in the future. I took a lot of inspiration from how she uses toon-shaders to make her digital and traditional art blend together cohesively and I think that this is something I could possibly do in the future as well. I hope to experiment more with this possible idea in my own work!

Shriya:
Shriya's work is perhaps whose I think is most similar to my own. We are both artists who like to explore the ideas that aren't always realistic. I do like how in this past marking period she experimented with narration since I think that that can be very difficult. I personally have a difficult time listening to my own voice and outside of school I have been exploring the idea of producing content for a video game. The way Shriya narrated this art piece did help me see some of the things I would need to keep in mind. She also has a lot of courage doing this because I would find it very different considering that I absolutely don't like the sound of my own voice.

Kyle:

Even though I may sit next to Kyle in class, I was really shocked by his end project for this marking period! I was very impressed with not only the quality of the video he produced but I really enjoyed the acting and some of the editing he used in his mockumentary. This somewhat goofy video again brings up the question of whether or not memes can be art. I was very impressed with how Kyle presented this silly idea with still making it very good content.

Dylan:

Unfortunately there seemed to be either a problem with the url or I have done something wrong because I am not able to show any of Dylan's work here. That being said, I felt that I had to include his work regardless. I love the football documentary that Dylan produced and I find the level of work very impressive for a high school student. I remember coming home and telling my mom about what he did and comparing it to the other work I produce and even professions do and seeing how high he set the bar. I really hope that Dylan is successful in his future because I think that he could create some very good things that will influence a lot of people like the football documentary did. Dylan is an inspiration for his hard work and talent.
